The USYE trip scheduled in half a day at Dachau, one of the concentration camps used during the Second World War. Of course I'd seen pictures and read accounts of concentration camp survivors in history class, but the full gut wrenching feeling didn't really hit me until I saw the furnaces in the crematorium and wondered how many corpses had been piled in the very spot I was standing. It's unbelievable that humans could do this to each other.
